Add 802.11ac Wi-Fi to your Windows desktop system by adding the Archer T6E AC1300 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter from TP-Link to an available PCIe slot on your system. Combined speeds up to 1300 Mbps are possible, with 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 400 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. It is also backwards compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n standards and its two external antennas help ensure a greater range of Wi-Fi connectivity and stability. This Wi-Fi adapter is well-suited for tasks such as HD video streaming, online gaming, and web surfing. WEP, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, and 802.1x 64/128-bit encryption standards help make your connection more secure, while a built-in heat sink helps to dissipate heat generated by this adapter, which in turn helps to increase performance, improve stability, and improve its lifespan.

I built a desktop recently which lacked a WiFi enabled motherboard. While I was fine with wiring my computer directly to the router which serves the rest of the apartment, it was a hazard, causing a risk of tripping. This was an easy install and I didnt even need to download any drivers to support it !

The card is great when it’s working. Installing the card locked-up my computer on multiple occasions. I don’t know if it’s my PCI slot or the card, but positioning is finicky. Even then, I’m not capable of switching to a wireless printer without the card crashing the operating system. It’s great for internet access and a good value, but I don’t think I’d buy a second one if I needed a wireless card for a different computer.

This thing is fast, very easy to install and connected to my network like a charm.

It works, but why wasn’t a network adapter a standard feature? My last 6 computers had one.

This adapter works well in my Windows 10 PC. I cannot support installing the provided WiFi managing software that comes with it–except the driver. The managing software interfered with Windows 10 WiFi software. I installed the managing software along with the driver and after a few times trying to connect to a WiFi source, I uninstalled the managing software–now Windows 10 connects with no hassles.
