I needed a little PoE switch, was already using other Omada APs, and had grown to hate Ubiquiti. The Flex mini I was using is a fine-enough device, but I couldn’t use VLANs on it without moving more in to its ecosystem. Finally the EAP235-Wall became available to give me gigabit ports (225-Wall is 100mbit uplinked) and VLAN support per SSID and physical port. My only complaint is the uplink port is exclusive to the rear, so unless it’s wall mounted (which I did not desire) it’s a little awkward to place compared to a regular small form factor switch.
