With its included USB 3.0 to SATA cable and cloning software, the SSD Notebook Upgrade Toolkit from SanDisk can be used to make a 1:1 copy of your Windows OS, programs, and files from their current storage drive to a new one.
The included cable is equipped on one side with a USB 3.0 Type-A connector, which is also compatible with USB 2.0, and the other end is equipped with a SATA connector. This allows data to be migrated from virtually any system that has a USB Type-A port to most 2.5″ SATA hard drives or SSDs, as well as 3.5″ SATA hard drives. The included cloning software has step-by-step instructions, helping to make the process more user-friendly.

The software available with this upgrade tool kit will only work with WD or SanDisk drives and not always reliably. I purchased a WD Blue SSD and the software would not recognize this as a WD drive. The cable is useful but I had to buy a full Acronis license to clone my drive.

The product works great! Instructions are clear, time to convert from old hard drive to the new ssd took about the predicted time given by the instructions. Followed the directions and my new configuration ran perfect the first time. Good Job, I would do this again. Computer has new life in it and is fast.

I used this to clone my original 1TB mechanical hard drive to a new 1TB SSD. The cloning went flawlessly and the laptop performs much faster with the SSD.

Worked perfectly right out of the box. Overnight delivery wasn’t expected but nailed the deal. I was able to recover hundreds of photos that I thought were lost forever.

This made my efforts easy. It is a tad short so one has to watch where and how you set it. That drawback is the reason I deducted 1 star.

Software only installed if you have a western digital drive already in your computer. I got around that by attaching an external WD drive. However, after going through the set up and rebooting the drive, that I needed to clone, still did not clone. So, if you need the connector only you are ok, but software is junk.
