This motherboard not only looks great, but it has everything i need and even more. Everything has worked perfectly smooth for me so far, and bios is easy to navigate. Im not too technical as this was used for my first build, but if you can invest into it this is a fantastic board to go with. B&H and msi both had outstanding service, as this item was backordered and expected to ship in mid-late december (i ordered in late november) but then arrived early after a mere week of waiting. Apparently it was shipped directly from MSI and it came super quick.

I have the following parts installed: 3600, 2080Ti, G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (2 x 16GB) F4-3600C16D-32GTZN, Samsung 970 Evo 1TB in the primary, and an XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB in the secondary M.2 slots. I also added a 1x USB add-on card in the bottom PCIe slot. Hardware-wise it is a typical motherboard to me. There is nothing really outstanding to note, nothing about it really got my attention as out of the ordinary. I suppose that is a good thing, nothing exceptional and nothing annoyingly bad. This is my first MSI board. I am used to Asrock, Gigabyte, and Asus UEFI interfaces and this one felt weird to me at first but work with it long enough and it isn’t too bad. The MSI software is garbage. I installed the Dragon Center software right after installing Windows having had no prior experience with it. It feels and works like a hodgepodge of garbage software strapped together. I promptly rebooted my system off of the Windows install thumb drive and blew that install of Windows away and started over to be sure no trace of Dragon Center was left. So I am currently left with rainbow cycling LEDs because I haven’t found a stand-alone version of Mystic Light that works with this board. At least they give you a hardware switch to turn them off. I can’t say I am a fan of the swoosh on the VRM heatsink anyway. The other problem that I had was with Secure Boot. It was working until I updated my UEFI to 7C90v13. I did some research and it seems like the latest version broke it for several boards. I’m still waiting for that to be resolved. Overall it is working as I’d expect. Other than the noted problems I’ve had no others. My plan is to update to a newer Ryzen when they come out and replace the 970 EVO with a PCIe4 drive once prices drop a bit more. Then get one of the new video cards once everyone puts their cards on the table. I’ll come back and update if I have any other problems.
