The “Wiss” right hand aviation snips are of a very robust design! They are a bit different from my older pair of “red handles” (red indicating that they cut best in a counter clockwise and straight direction)! The jaws are much more beefy in construction. As specified on the packaging, apparently these snips can cut material, presumably steel, up to 18 gauge thickness. Unfortunately, I used my pair to cut only 22 gauge 24 gauge galvanized steel, so I’m not sure how they perform with that thicker metal. I was able to make some very smooth and clean tight radius’s cuts like I was cutting paper with sharp scissors. Very nice job! These aviation snips do a much better job of cutting than standard “Tin Snips” as well.
