If you want a clean cut you’re gonna want this finishing blade with 40 teeth. WAN is stepping up their game, I have recently been introduced to their products and am highly satisfied. The blade slides through the wood without trouble and leaves a nice clean edge. You’ll be happy to include this blade in your collection of 7.5″ circular saw blades. This is the ideal candidate for when you want an effortless smooth finish.

My experience tells me that the real test is blade longevity, sharpness retention and resistance to chipping and warping. Nearly every blade cuts well straight out of the box, but when used repeatedly the lesser well-made blades will quickly start to dull and deterioration of the blades tips becomes visible. Well so far, after trying to find projects with which to test the blade – after all, it is a finish blade, I can say that I’m pretty satisfied with this blade. Only one minor complaint is with some tear-out, but it’s probably due to the material use and/or operator fault.

At first glance this appears to be a standard style blade. I’m not familiar with the company name either but always willing to give any saw blade a performance test. I did notice the 4 laser-cut “EKG” lines in the blade spaced equidistant from each other. These appeared to be filled with a firm gel-like material. I have no idea what the logic is there and couldn’t find any information about it from the manufacturer website either. If I had to guess I’d say it’s probably an anti-vibration/harmonic vibration prevention feature, but I’m not a saw blade designer. The teeth are carbide tipped and alternate top bevel, or ATB, set about 18-20 degrees I’d say. This style provides and clean cut smooth finish which I prefer honestly. The manufacturer states clearly this blade can be used in both circular and miter saws so I figured to get back to work on cutting crown moulding to finish out my kitchen rebuild and see how well it cuts. I swapped out a new 60 tooth ultra-finish for this blade, but wasn’t disappointed. It cuts faster than a 60 obviously but just as cleanly so far. The miters line up good enough for me; a little wood filler and nobody will ever notice. I made probably 12-15 miter cuts in a row one evening with this blade on a 6 foot run of factory-painted maple crown For my cabinets, which included cutting with separate mounting strip as well, and each one felt the same as the first. In comparison, a 60 tooth blade I used recently didn’t make it 2 days and about 25 cuts before it was about worthless for finish work. I’d say the claim of wear-resistant teeth is supported then. I also noticed my saw spools up faster with this blade on it. Couldn’t guess why, I use ultra-thin kerf style which is what this blade is. I did have some paint wear off the blade onto the work piece but that always happens cutting crown upright for me.

I love WEN products including the 40-toothed finish saw blade. I use it on my Ryobi Compound Sliding Mitre Saw. The blade is very sharp and long lasting. I was able to get a very smooth cut without any trouble. My latest project was a ceiling mounted valance over our panel blinds for our patio door. 1st. When choosing a saw blade think about what you want it to do, rough saw, finish trim, cross cut. 2nd know the type of wood you are using, hard or soft wood. These will help you pick the right blade for your project. Overall i am very happy with the WEN blade and will continue to buy them in the future.
