This is a basic no frills auto wire stripper that has one setting for various wire gauges. It sometimes takes multiple attempts to strip the ends of wires and seems to work best when squeezed very tightly which detracts from its intended purpose to simplify the work but for the most part usually gets the job done. It does have a locking button to keep it in a closed position which makes storing it when not needed easier. If you are a pro that needs to strip wiring frequently you might want something more advanced but for occasional use, especially in hard to reach places, it’s definitely ok.

This design of wire stripper is new to me. It consists of two metal V-shaped jaws that first cut through the insulation and then pull it off. I tried it on 12 gauge solid wire and 18 gauge stranded wire and had good results with both. The insulation was cleanly cut and removed, with no stretching. At the same time I didn’t notice any nicks in the underlying wires. It will strip 10 to 24 gauge solid or stranded wires. There’s an adjustable strip length stop from 1/3″ to 1/2″. This length stop doesn’t appear to be removable. The cutter will cut wire up to 14 gauge. It has a handle lock for more compact storage. While the stripper works very well, I found the grip angle to be a little awkward, and it seems to require a large hand to operate.

To my surprise it cuts more thinner wire gauges than advertised at a higher price

exactly what the description state. self adjusting. they work very well on either solid or stranded wire. i have an older pair of these made by Snap On/ Bluepoint these are similar quality with the upgrade of the adjustable measuring/depth stop & the lock that keeps these closed for storage. these are very well built. i prefer these to other types of wire strippers that i have used

Super simple accurate wire stripping every time. These little heavy duty light weight wire strippers cut and strip many different varieties of wire with just a squeeze of the handles. They have a built in adjustable depth gauge that allows you to strip the wire to the same length each and every time. They are constructed of a very sturdy light weight composite material that should give the average user years of trouble free service.

Replacement for much older model. Not the same quality but it works. Easiest method I have found.

This is my second one. The first one would not keep the handle latched so I returned it and bought another. The handle stays latched on this one and strips the wire just fine.
