   I have ordered these many times for my companies new windows and apple laptops. People think you need a apple branded adapter but you do not. I went to ordering these after our first purchase were Monoprice branded which fell apart and failed shortly after first use. I will not order any other brand.

   I bought a Dell XPS 13 with the mini display port and needed an adapter to hook to projectors. The one sold by Dell kept turning off the external display. The Startech adapter does whatever is needed and the external display is always on. Thanks!
