I understand that the green handles are supposed to start it while the pulled back handle makes it move forward but when I use it is the other way around. Ordered thru Home Depot & received in a very timely manner. Instructions for assembling were straight forward & fine. First use was very disappointing. Didn’t cut the grass in a straight level; evidently wasn’t set right at the factory. Attempts to contact Ryobi both by internet & by phone were disappointing & unsatisfactory. However, Home Depot was very helpful by replacing the bad unit with a good unit. Everything works well except it doesn’t pick up leaves very well. Had to use my old gasoline driven mower to effectrively pick up the leaves. I have a large yard & the battery is very strong & was able to finish the whole yard in just a little over and hour & the battery was still strong & working very well.

I had a previous generation model and I liked it, but it has a few functionality quirks. You couldn’t fold the handles all the way if the mowing height was near the highest. You also couldn’t retrieve the batteries when the handles were folded. I don’t know if it was possible but I never could get the bag out between the handles, I always had to lift then transfer hands. ALL of those items have been improved in the current model. Additionally, if you mow with only one battery the position is farther back in the body so it is lighter to pivot. I had never had a particular problem with the disengaging of the drive system with the old mower but the new mower disconnects more cleanly (read:will roll backwards quicker) than the previous model and I like it. Great upgrades, Ryobi!
