My small plot of level land is not much of a test for any lawn mower but my Ryobi did an excellent job. The only reason I didn’t give it an excellent rating is the mower not operating unless the handle bar is fully extended. This caught me by surprise the second time I tried to use it. It wouldn’t start and so I thought the battery need to be recharged even though it was half full. Turned out that the handle bar had slipped a little and so when I extended it to its full length it started right up. If having the handle bar fully extended is so necessary for operating the mower, why have it adjustable in the first place?

My gas mower died, late in the season, so the grass was about 4-6″ high and laying down because it was covered with leaves. I was surprised at how well it went through all of that. Of course I had to empty the bag often with all the leaves added in ( I haven’t tried the mulcher, yet,) but it didn’t struggle to mow through. I couldn’t force it through as fast as a gas (I think it will cut as fast when grass is normal height and no leaves), but it more than makes up for it with how much easier it maneuvers and it’s much quieter and no exhaust. No more dealing with gas. I did have to charge the battery twice because I made it work so hard and it’s a couple of large areas. One is about 100’X50″ the other about 100’X60″

Assembly was quick and easy. The chute plug was bit awkward to insert but once it was inserted it fits perfectly.It started up on the first push of the start button. It is now waiting for the spring to spring into action.
