I purchased this vacuum as it was reasonably priced for an EPA RRP compliant unit. It is easy to set up and use, with decent suction – though notably less than my standard Ridgid wet/dry vac. The operating volume of the vac is remarkably quiet as a nice bonus. On the downside, it uses a 1-7/8″ hose that flares to 2-1/2″ at the ends for connections and adapters. While it’s nice to have the large diameter and interchangeable standard attachment size hose ends, it allows chunks that are larger than will fit through the hose to be sucked up and frequently jam in the narrowed hose opening, requiring the hose to be removed and flipped around to suck the clogged debris from the attachment end by placing it into the suction hole. With a full size hose, this would be a much better performing machine, I would imagine.

I originally bought this vacuum for a strong commercial type use because of its two stage motor, but it did not meet my expectations. I am a Ridgid for life fan, but this vacuum just did not have enough suction. It was super quiet and had a sleek design, but was not like regular Ridgid vacs.

I can’t say enough good things about this Rigid 2400A Wet/Dry Shop Vac !!! It is powerful, picks up dry and liquids fast, is easy to move around, comes with all the attachments you will ever need and it holds a lot of debris.I cleaned the garage with it yesterday and I just love the large brush attachment. It’s really sweeps up the dirt, leaves and small pebbles and then sucks them into it’s large 2 1/2 ” hose. Rigid went a step further and made the hose end so it “swivels”. No more trying to turn the complete hose to change angles on your attachments. Now, the swivel allows the turning without twisting up the long hose.Another feature I really like is that I’m able to store the hose right onto the machine. See pictures of neatly stored hose and electrical cord. And the storage pouch holds all the attachments. I have another shop vac that I own where I cannot find all the attachments because I don’t know where they are because there wasn’t any place to attach them to the vac.The vac also comes with a Noise Reduction Muffler. It doesn’t mention it in the instructions but you insert it in the “blower” hole. It really doesn’t muffle the noise but what it does do is reduce the air that shoots out from this hole. This is a major plus. Hardly any air comes out of the unit with this attachment installed. Also, this shop vac is not at all noisy. If anyone has pets then you know how difficult, if not impossible, it is to remove hair from furniture, pet beds, your clothes and your car cloth seats. I’m attaching a picture of a dog bed that I vacuumed and brush and lint rolled without success of removing much pet hair. On part of the bed I tried this shop vac and you will see where this Rigid shop vac removed most of the hair that I could not get off the bed without using tweezers. I still have to use tweezers to get some of the deeply imbedded hair out of it, but not as much. This vac is awesome. One other chore I did with this shop vac was blow my driveway clean from dirt, leaves and pebbles. It has major power in both sucking and blowing. I am very impressed and pleased with this shop vac and I know you will be also.

Well constructed but disappointing performance. Very low suction was not good for vacuuming dry debris on garage floor.

I purchased this unit in November 2016. Used it daily as a dust extraction device on my router table, and as a general duty shop vac. Suction is very good. The hose is very flexible, but sometimes disengages from the port, even though it was “locked” in place with the locking tabs. Very loud, but I always wear hearing protection Light weight and it has good maneuverability. I had to replace my original unit in March 2017 because the on/off switch stopped working. Exchange at Home Depot was, as they advertise, “Hassle Free.”

Great value, great suction, great accessories make this an all around great product! I researched every workshop vacuum out there and bang for the buck nothing touches the Rigid shop-vac.

Powerful and easy to set-up and use. Cannot speak to durability as have not had it that long. I went for one point less on power t get a much quieter machine. Glad I did.

This shop vac really “sucks”, which is a good thing for any vacuum cleaner. I now have three of these vacuum cleaners and have been very pleased with their performance.PROS: 1. I used this vacuum cleaner to suck the water out of a wet carpet in my car. I was amazed at how much water the vacuum cleaner picked up. 2. The handle on the vacuum cleaner makes it very easy to move the vacuum cleaner around. 3. The handle on the vacuum cleaner can be removed, which makes it easy to empty/clean the vacuum cleaner. 4. The filter can be washed and re-used. 5. The hose locks onto the vacuum cleaner and does not pull off while you are working.CONS: A dusting brush is not included with this vacuum cleaner. You have to pay extra to buy a dusting brush if you want one.SUGGESTIONS: 1. RIDGID makes a 20 ft. long hose for this vacuum cleaner. I can clean my garage without having to move the vacuum cleaner. Well worth the money. 2. RIDGID also makes a filter specially designed for wet pick up only (VF7000). Again, well worth the money.

I baught this to get saw dust and out. This isnt cutting it I was doing better with my Craftsman. This rigid seems to lack suction power. Meh its mediocre.

..tool tray a little cumbersome and took some time to work out, but once that was accomplished, just amazing! Powerful, and quiet, what a great combo!!!!

My old Shop Vac died and time for a new one. For only 2 gallon smaller capacity, this was a bargain. It’s very quiet for such powerful suction. Only had a couple weeks, but so far it’s great.

My 12 year old Ridgid wet/dry vacuum is still going strong, but it is time for a replacement that I can keep permanently in my shop.I am glad to see that numerous improvements have been made over the years. The amperage has been increased by 15%, which should translate into an even bigger increase in power, yet the new vacuum is very much quieter than the old one.The handle and the bigger wheels make it a charm to move around. Moving the old model either required stooping down, picking it up or dragging it by the hose- which usually came loose! In the unlikely event that I need to drag this model, it has a hose lock.Beside the major reduction of noise, far less dust gets past the dual filters, so I will be really cleaning rather than just redistributing dust. The smaller diameter hose results in a higher velocity air flow so heavier scraps of metal will wind up in the vacuum and not remaining in the hose to fall out onto the floor as soon as the power is switched off.The accessory bag on the handle means that it will be much harder for me to misplace the attachments.I’m glad to see that so many useful improvements have been made and I’m confident that the new model will give me years of good service.

The vacuum didn’t come with a hose. I was sent one and received it fast. I’m disappointed with the suction. It doesn’t pickup stuff like I would expect for a 2 stage commercial vacuum. I understand why it was on sale for 50% off. Disappointed!

I hope this one lasts as long as the other one did. The other Ridgid lasted 12 years..

I wish there was more places to hold all the attachments. Otherwise it is nice.

Air velocity is not as expected. The regular home version is way better for the dollar value.

This vacuum cleaner is very well made. Low noise level and great suction. Well worth the money.

A fairly compact, highly mobile and powerful vacuum. Great for garage or shop and cleans up in a wide arc, yet is quieter than other vacuums of the same size or larger. Attachments are easy to affix to the vacuum and the longer cord is excellent for ease of use. Glad I bought it for project clean up in messy jobs.

After my old shop vacuum died after 12 years, I replaced it with this 14-gallon beast. It is easy to assemble, connects to my shop tools without an adapter, easily rolls without tipping over, does not require an extension cord, sucks like a Texas tornado, and for a 6.0 HP motor, it is unbelievably quiet. For the price, this vacuum is a steal!
