Rigid calls it a ‘portable power source’, but it’s really a battery adapter, with zero power until you mount it on a Rigid battery. We got it trying to get power to the Rigid roll-up light panel. The panel looked like a great idea, we could slide it under a car when working on it, but it didn’t come with this adapter, and every source we tried, including looking at the box the light came in AND calling Rigid, provided a different part number! It seems Rigid has multiple versions of this ‘power source’ and we failed at finding the correct one. Out of frustration we returned both the light and all the adapters. Rigid has now done everything possible to bury that light on their web site, and may have discontinued the correct adapter.

Handy solution for remote charging. Only issue is that you cannot turn-off the unit by pressing the power button a second time. Have to wait for it to turn off (8 hours) or remove the battery. Not sure why that was acceptable choice.

I use these out in the workshop. With a small/garage workshop, I try to use 18v tools as opposed to overloading my circuits. This is a great way to keep the phone/tablet charging while working on projects outdoors. I even use it for keeping the kids tablets charging while on long road trips. I would recommend. Only gave 4 out of 5 stars because they may be difficult to find in the stores at times. Otherwise, I have three in my possession!!

Using the 18v blower, the battery only operates for maybe 10 minutes. Because I use it for small jobs such as blowing out my shop, porch and other small areas it fits my needs just fine.

Took a 9Ah Rigid Octane battery for mountain biking and camping 3 days, 2 nights. Charged 2 phones to 100% twice and 2 smart watches to 100% twice and still had 2 bars of power in the battery left over. Awesome product.
