These tools work as great as they look! I’m a tool guy and presentation, along with good looks are part of the tool selection process. Milwaukee did a great job in making a decent ratchet and socket set, and one look will tell you the presentation and looks are in check. The chrome is shiny, the case is solid and a great place to store them so they are readily available and in the proper place. As for function, I used them on multiple nuts to see if they were as sturdy as they are advertised. I had zero problems working out even the most stubborn nut from its corroded location. You get the standard (shallow) sockets, deep well sockets, a couple of extensions and a universal joint. You can remove the tray from the box and then return to the case when done. I’m sure you too will be as impressed as I am……you should order two sets. One to hang on the wall that you can stare at because this is one beautiful set and one set for doing the work you are buying it to do. Home Depot has a very decent return policy – so go ahead and give it a try, if it isn’t all I’ve said it is, a simple return can be done at your local Home Depot store.

This review is for Milwaukee 1/4-inch drive 26-piece METRIC socket set, Product No. 48-22-9504. I am impressed with the organized case for this set, it being of tough high impact plastic with steel pinned hinged cover, handy sliding-type closure and tool slots that facilitate easy removal of the tool pieces. The sockets are all clearly and deeply stamped with the sizes and are all six-point type, my preference for driving hex-head fasteners. What I especially appreciate is the square base shape for the sockets that prevents them from rolling off of the working surface when removed from the drive ratchet and placed aside. The square rather than round socket profiles also facilitate wrench assists for extra removal and fastening torque, a nice innovation. The drive ratchet is low profile, having an overall length from tip to tip of about 5-12 inches. The ratchet system provides for a handy small arc of 4 degrees per click position. All if the pieces have a high quality chrome-plate finish. This set has a limited lifetime warranty. This is a high quality tool set that is a very welcome replacement for my old 1/4-inch METRIC socket set.

This ratchet and socket set is quality made, complete with both deep well and normal sockets, a 90 tooth ratchet, two extensions, and a u-joint. The ratchet has a super smooth action, and a multi-tooth pawl for great engagement of the drive gear. The sockets all have square ends, which helps prevent rolling, and can be used with a wrench too. Although it’s not often you’ll need that feature, I can think of at least one time where I could fit a socket but not the ratchet on the back of it, and the square design would have come in handy. The tray can come out of case if you want to store it in a toolbox drawer, but be warned the tools just sit in the tray with no retention, so don’t tilt it too much! This does make it easier to grab something when you need it though, since I’ve had socket sets that have too much retention. The chrome looks great on all components, but the stamped letters could be a little more clear for some of the smaller numbers.

This set of ¼ inch sockets includes both 12 deep well and 12 standard sockets from 5 mm to 15 mm including 5.5 mm. It also includes a ¼ inch ratchet, a 6-inch extension, a 3-inch extension, and a swivel. The set also comes with a plastic carrying case with a removable display case. The case also has two hanging tabs on it so it can be hung from your peg board. The best part about this set is that each socket has a square portion so an end wrench can be used to help tighten or loosen the nut. As a starter set or an everyday mechanic I think this set will provide years and years of service.

Frankly I already had a pretty good quality quarter drive inch socket set (by Grip) but when I saw these Milwaukee ones I had to try them being a huge Milwaukee fan. And I have to say I believe these are the best made quarter inch drive socket sets I have seen. The build quality is fantastic. The bases are VERY solid and the ratchet is well made. The only improvement I can see possible would be a quick release like the one on my Grip ratchet. The markings are large and easy to see. The case is good quality. And the assortment given in both the metric and SAE sets is great with both deep well and regular depth versions of each (a lot better than my Grip ones which I thought were a pretty good set.) It comes with a good set of extensions too which are nicely knurled. You can’t go wrong with these if you want good quality tools. Kudos to Milwaukee for putting out quality product. Do yourself a favor if you need some ¼ in drive sets and get them both.

Have been using for a couple of weeks. Like that I got shallow and deep well, all metric. Not a fan of metric/sae combo sets. Quality is good. Would like a quick release bit this works fine. Also like having the case. Spline on the extensions is nice for finger control. Overall quality is excellent.

Both metric and SAE versions of this set have helpful features:1— Wide Range of the small sizes that I most commonly need for household repairs, assembly, projects, etc. I already have complete socket sets and drivers of every size & type, but these are far more convenient because of the small carrying cases and compact form. 2— The cases are compact and already have “shadowing.” No need to cut expensive foam or cardboard cutouts. If you want these in your drawers, just pull out the entire tray and plop it into place! Then if you need to carry tools for outside jobs, they go back in the case in one second. These factory-made trays always SHOW you when something is missing. That helps prevent tool loss and keeps you organized. By itself, that is a super valuable time-saving feature.3— LARGE SIZE NUMBERS are easy to read. The numbers ( both Metric and SAE ) are ETCHED permanently into the steel. Numbers won’t rub off. Dirt or grease actually makes those etched numbers more visible! And if you want to clean your sockets after a job, you don’t need to worry about numbers fading or disappearing as they do with other sets.4— The wrench has many small teeth. ( 96?) That makes it easier to get a purchase on nuts and bolts in cramped quarters. It works smoothly and grabs with authority. Plus it just looks nice… like an “old-school” design from when all tools were well made with pride. 5— All the sockets fit the wrench tightly, yet go on and come off easily. That’s a sign they are made to tight tolerances. Of course, that also prevents frustration and saves time too. Even though I’ve only had these a couple of weeks, they’ve already become my favorite “go-to” sets.I wish ALL tool manufacturers got smart and provided these useful, time-saving features. I’m super pleased with the quality and can wholeheartedly recommend them for any pro mechanic, tradesperson, homeowner or hobbyist.

This set exceeded my expectations. The slim case and removable tool tray are my favorite features. So far, the sockets and ratchet have performed well when used. What don’t I like? I would prefer the knurling on the extensions to be a cross-hash design and maybe over more of the extension. I also don’t like that none of the local Home Depots stock these tools, so they must be shipped and I can’t just pick them up at the store.

I have been using mechanics tools for over 65 years and this ¼” drive socket set is the nicest set of small sockets I have ever used. They are polished chrome and sizes are engraved as many sets are but that is just the beginning. This set has a unique feature. All the sockets have square drive ends. This innovation works great as you start a nut or bolt by hand. It also lets you use an open end wrench on the socket in tight places, keeps it from rolling away and best of all it allows you to get a grip on the socket when you are removing it from the ratchet or extension. The extensions have a knurled section to assist in getting a grip as well. Anyone who has worked with oily slippery hands, and now with gloved oily slippery hands, will definitely appreciate these “grips”. The ratchet has a good feel to it and the 4 degree increments are nice. The set with all sizes 5mm to 15mm is perfect for working under the hood of a newer or imported automobile.

Look great also surprised inside there on a removable tray

Smaller than I expected, but that’s a good thing. I also like the removable organizer. The ratchet lever needs stronger engagement. I’ve only used it once. Only time will tell if it lives up to the Milwaukee name.

This little 1/4′ drive kit is a fantastic addition to any toolbox. It has shallow and deep sockets. The build quality is excellent, and the finish is beautiful. I’m not so much into having the prettiest tools. I know what tools go through. That being said, I think these are an amazing gift idea for anyone who loves tools, and USES tools. I love the completeness of this set for 1/4 drive. It’s well organized. The carry case is good for on the go, but the most impressive feature of the case, is that you do NOT need it! The inside bottom of the case is a flat, compact, organizing tray for this set. You simply lift it out, and place in your drawer; of a larger toolbox. No wasted space! The outer box, you can store, toss, or repurpose. I love complete tool sets. This set stays all together on the inside removable tray. Tray and tools are much shallower than the case/box. Brilliant. Built in organizer! worth it for sure. It is set is metric only, so more for automotive, than handyman.

The hard case is excellent for travel and storage. the build quality is outstanding. I especially like the option of the removable tray that you can use to keep the sockets, ratchet, and extensions organized in your tool box.
