The M18 FUEL String Trimmer with QUIK-LOK has the power to clear thick brush, reaches full throttle in under 1-second and features a balanced design which increases user control. The String Trimmer is made up of 2 components the M18 FUEL Power Head and QUIK-LOK String Trimmer Attachment. Part of the QUIK-LOK Attachment System, the Power Head is compatible with multiple attachments such as an Edger, a Hedge Trimmer and a Pole Saw. The ability to quickly swap out attachments on a single Power Head delivers ultimate versatility and a lower cost of ownership. Designed to meet the needs of professional landscape maintenance, the POWERSTATE Brushless Motor is positioned in the rear of the trimmer to provide the best combination of power, balance and maneuverability. The motor delivers up to 6,200 RPM with up to a 16 in. cutting swath and has the power to maintain its speed in demanding applications without bogging down. The REDLINK PLUS intelligence ensures maximum performance and protection from overload, overheating and over discharge. The advanced electronic package also delivers instantaneous throttle response, high and low speeds and a variable speed trigger for ultimate control over the power range. The hedge trimmer cuts through 99% of anything it is up against like warm butter. Easy to use and care for after trimming. String Trimmer handles everything in its path even when in low speed mode! Battery life is incredible for both actions. Highly recommended!

I’ve used this for quite some time now to trim and edge my 1/4 acre residential yard. The 9AH battery will get me through several weeks worth of maintenance before it needs charged, and I swear the rapid charger will have it fully charged again within 30 minutes. Trimmer is simple to use, simple to dispense more string, simple to reload. Edger leaves a flawless edge with ease (the first time I edged, it had never been done, so it was more of an effort – but once you do that and keep up on it you’ll fly through it). Very comfortable to hold, especially if you buy the harness to go with it. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve recommended this thing to. My neighbor went out and bought a set after trying it. I’ve completely ditched just about all of my gas powered tools; everything in the M18 outdoor line is exceptionally easy to use with plenty of power (try the chainsaw…). Who wants to mess with the mess of gas and oil, maintaining those engines during the seasons – and it seems no matter how well you take care of them they never start next season?I’m telling you – if you’ve ever considered getting into the cordless outdoor tool game – do it. Maintaining the yard is something you have to do your whole life, might as well make it easy?

Very happy with this trimmer. Balanced well and easy to use. I bought this for my wife to use in the garden area which has a lot of ground. It trims grass and weeds with ease. We have our bigger trimmers for bigger stuff like thick brush around the farm. You can use this Milwaukee trimmer to cut thick stuff but I don’t think it was made for that. We used my 12ah battery for longer run time and power but you can use any battery. It feeds out line very smoothly with just a bump on the trim head. Reloading line with no tools is a plus. Don’t have to remove or open the trim head to reload line. Just feed line through the holes, make sure line is equal on both sides of trim head and wind the reloader by hand. We are getting the pole saw attachment this morning which is another great feature about this tool. You can swap the head to accommodate what your needs are. Built super solid! I really recommend this to anyone looking for a cordless trimmer. A lil pricey, but well worth the cost for a tool that can more than trim.

The kit says it comes with a rapid charger, I got a standard charger. I like the string trimmer but the rapid charger is misleading. Will HD swap chargers? Considering returning, the standard charger takes a long time charging an 8 amp battery.
