Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless ROCKET LED Stand Light/Charger Kit with HIGH OUTPUT 8.0 Ah Battery review: Man, this is THE light for lighting up large areas for workshops, storage units, backyards, anywhere you need a bright set of lights to cover a large area. It is M18 battery powered and comes with an 8ah battery. I use 12ah batteries which last even longer. It has the ability to easily adjust the light level from high to medium to low. The three light heads give out a 5000K daylight balanced light – great! It is easy to release and collapse the three legs for support. It has two telescoping center tubes so you can adjust the height easily. Each of the three heads can be adjusted individually to suit your lighting needs. I first used it to light up my garage as I repaired/replaced ceiling sheet-rock – it sure made it easier as I could see everything. Next, I used it to light up our back yard. And just today to light up our large storage area where we took all our plants to survive the cold weather – we used the light to simulate daylight for the plants so they do not perish. This thing is heavy so they included two handles to make it easier to transport. Milwaukee hit another one clean out of the ballpark! Even my wife loves it! What a jewel. There ya go!

Milwaukee you are the King…….This light is simply astounding! There is nothing i can’t light up and keep working on now. I also own the 2131 and while it’s bright enough to light up areas i use it in, this 2136 is insane. The adjustability of the heads are incredible, and it’s really cool how the heads are protected in the retracted position. Love the carry handle that allows me to find perfect balance. The whole stand feels incredibly strong. Definitely engineered for us working guys that remodel, work on cars, and just about anything else that one would need portable lighting for.I am glad that I purchased this one and will probably purchase again.

I bought this rocket light to go along with my all Milwaukee tool collection and wow, I am impressed with this light. It features a 6000 lumen LED light in high power mode with 3.5 hour run time with a Milwaukee 8.0 High Output battery. Set up of the light literally takes seconds and carrying the light is super easy. The thing I like most about this light is the plug in option which also charges your battery and there is also a USB port to charge your phone or power whatever you need via USB. The light is in the expensive side but well worth the investment!!

Even better than I was hoping for! Impressive brightness, great battery life, and the smooth aiming mechanisms were really exceptional. The light doesn’t cast shadows as bad as most temporary lighting which helps make the work go smoother. Worth the investment!

I just bought me this light. It should have a super charger for the 18 volts and a fast charger for the cell phones for the price. I also would have liked to see a bright white instead of the off white it has. Also the clamps that hold the post up are not adjustable to tighten so the lights does not slide down. There may be a possibility that with rain or cold weather the clamps won’t hold the post tightly like you can with a bycle seat since its the same concept. This is my first tripod light and don’t have nothing else to compare it too so for now I think this is an ok light. I bought a 12.0 battery for 219.00 for this light and it took forever to charge using this tower. They only had the light only no bag or battery. I paid 449.00. Im using it in the living room for now.

I believe this would qualify as the king of Milwaukee M18 Rocket lights. This 6000 lumen LED light is a sight to behold and all the extra features really makes the difference. My observations:• Few lights are this easy to set up and take down. Once you pull it out of the included bag I can have this light set up and ready in less than 10 seconds and that is really taking my time. Also, I appreciate that there are no pinch points that can get your fingers. I have another light that has more than once tore up my finger. This light has a really well thought out design.• The carrying bag is durable and the zipper does not get stuck anywhere. Best part, the light fits in the bag well but not too tight. Simply said, you will not spend a full minute trying to get it to fit into the bag like some other lights. With this light, you will have the light completely folded up and in the bag/zipped up in about 15-20 seconds.• The light has plenty of adjustments and allows up to 7 feet in height along with the ability to freely rotate the 3 lights to either create a full light spread to light up an entire room/outdoor area or you can focus all 3 lights onto one area.• The light itself is clean and bright. I added a pic taken at night with it pointed up into some trees. I don’t own any other light that produces that type of lumen output in such clean detail.• The 3 intensity settings are helpful. Each provides a subtle lumen difference that you will notice.• The M18 XC8.0 Ah battery is a beast. Anyone that knows these batteries already understands the power and longevity they can create.• I like how I can use a power cord (if needed) which removes any concern about a battery running down. Once plugged in, I now have a battery charger to get my M18 batteries back up to full charge.• The 2.1 Ah USB port will allow to you to charge your cell phone, etc. off the M18 battery. Most people will appreciate that.• The light is stable as it sits on the 3 leg stand. You will need to make a purposeful effort to knock down this light.• I found it easy to move around with the carry handle/rail.This light/kit is well made and everything worked as I expected. I expect years and years of good service from it. I fully recommend.

I have been a fan of the Milwaukee 18 volt lighting systems for a while. This model is as great as the rest. Twice the light as the oldest model with about the same run time. AND it comes with a built in charger AND can run on A/C. I really like being able to have 360 degree lighting. I got well over the claimed run times on High and Low settings. I got about 3 hours 40 minutes with the high setting and 14 hours and 15 minutes on the low setting. My only two real complaints about this light is that it doesn’t have an A/C output so you can daisy chain lights together and the zipper on the storage bag will probably fail in about six months if you actually use it five days a week. And the price is harsh, but it does what it claims it can do, so as usual, you get what you pay for.

This is the best work light system I have ever used. I came from the day when I used to use metal halide light carts and hanging string cage fixtures to get bright light on the work area, but this light surpasses them all and without the wires and complexity to hang and relocate for phases of the project. The Milwaukee kit here is ready to go. Even if the included battery is low on power, this hybrid light will let you run off 120 volt power cord AND charge the battery at the same time with the built-in charger in the light base.My need for lighting for my work and projects has me always looking for a better solution that is safe and versatile. The Milwaukee has met both of these requirements perfectly.I like the included storage bag. Comes in great when carrying stuff up a ladder. I can shoulder the light bag strap and still use both hands on the ladder. The next feature I like is the light head. The ability to aim each light head to a specific area or aim each one around the work zone. I get the same effect I would have with metal halide lamps; completely lighting up the area. The 3 lighting levels are more than adequate and the light color is perfect to me – no blue/gray contrasting that occurs with some LEDs and metal halide.I appreciate the included USB port. It powers up on the Milwaukee battery or 120 power. It is perfect for keeping my phone topped off while I work. I’m not certain on the amp rating of the USB but I would think it would be at the USB maximum of 5 amps. The operation of the Rocket stand is super easy and very versatile. The light can be used without extending the legs out in a tripod arrangement for tight areas and the light is still very stable.I can’t say enough of how impressive this light is. A great job by Milwaukee designers. Makes it well worth it’s price!Completely folded the light measure around 44 inches and fully extended it measures at 7 feet.

Milwakee 18 volt light stand with built-in charger at the bottom of stand. This is a very useful tool for low light or unlit areas, also great when painting to high light the area so you don’t miss spots. Very easy to use, the light has adjustable tubes to raise the height and three legs for stability. The battery holder and charger are all in one, can be charged right in place, or in a Milwakee charger sold separately.

I purchased the Rover (3000 Lumen) and the Rocket (6000 lumen) to work as a pair. This allows me to light the area from both sides, and knock out a lot of shadows. The Rocket was primarily on jobs with poor light, in basements with no power, and wherever I need the sun. The AC adapter / Charger is a plus as well. It is fairly stout, but I have not dropped it yet, so I don’t know how well it will handle a fall. The bag is nice as well. The Good: I am able to point it where I want. It is tall enough to shine over my shoulders. Uses batteries I already own. It has an AC adapter / Charger. The light is very bright. When you put away the light, you can protect the lights behind plastic shields. The Bad. I wish it had more granular control of the light. It only has three levels of brightness. The Ugly. Milwaukee batteries are not cheap. This light cost $600 (with battery and bag), and I think it is worth it, but man that stings.I am happy with the purchase. A good light that I don’t have to wear on my head, or hold in my hand. It is probably the last task light I will ever need to buy.JW

SUMMARY: AN OUTSTANDING ADDITION TO MY WORKLIGHT COLLECTIONBACKGROUND: I have a small Milwaukee work light, and a Milwaukee flashlight. I wanted to get the Rocket lamp for illumination of larger areas.FIT AND FINISH: The light is built to the same durable feel as their other power tools. The included carrying case is very well made with padding, strap handles, and a heavy-duty detachable shoulder strap.FEATURES: From the Home Depot page, with my comments as appropriate.• The MILWAUKEE® M18™ ROCKET™ Tower Light/Charger Kit is designed to deliver users a lighting solution that adapts, performs, and survives to the jobsite. o This is an impressive lighting system. Much better than my previous blazing hot halogen work lights.• This light tower sets up in seconds to a max height of 7’ and collapses to less than 4’ for easy transportation and storage. o The tripod stand slides down very quickly when you release the lock lever. The light head support shaft is in two pieces that are periscoped into the base. Two friction locks allow you to extend the light assembly to any height from 4 to 7 feet in a few seconds. o I did find the tripod release required pressure on both sides to unlock. This made one-hand operation of the tripod awkward. Would love to see this as a thumb-operated lock.• The multidirectional light head allows users to orient the three independently pivoting light heads to cast light in several directions. o The light head swivels and tilts and the 3 LED arrays tilt as well allowing great adjustment of light direction. I kept two arrays pointed up to bounce off the ceiling and one pointed at the work area when painting in our hallway. This provided great indirect lighting as well as more focused lighting where our tools and supplies were located.• With an integrated AC plug, users can plug in the light with a standard extension cord and charge any M18™ REDLITHIUM™ pack or use the USB port to charge your devices on site. o This is another great thing about this light…dual-powered. We used it in both battery and AC mode with equal effectiveness. Since you can charge an M18 battery while using the light in the AC mode it is even more versatile.o As great as the charging is it would be better if there were two or three battery locations so you could get longer battery run time, or use the light as a multi-battery charging station. • TRUEVIEW™ High Definition Output provides neutral white color and produces an even beam pattern for clearer visibilityo TRUEVIEW looks like a marketing slogan to me. After some research I found an article that identified the color temperature and color rendering index (CRI.) o The color temperature of the Rocket is 4000K. Other manufacturers may call this “Bright White.” 4000k is one of the default light temperatures on multi-color LED lights.o The Rocket CRI is 85. CRI describes the color accuracy of a light. The highest value, 100, is possible with pure sunlight and incandescent light sources. Light with CRI of 85 can be different depending on the LED emitter, but indicates rather good (at least for LED) color accuracy.• Delivering 6,000 lumens, it fills up large areas with TRUEVIEW™ High Definition light. For optimized control over the output and run-time, the M18™ ROCKET™ LED Light has three output settings. o This is one bright light. Painting the inside of our house with light fixtures removed the Rocket provided more light than the installed fixtured did. The 4000k light was great for identifying areas that needed touch-up painting as well.• The LEDs never need to be replaced and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. o This is becoming the standard for LED lighting in general, but a limited lifetime warranty is a good thing.• The tower light kit includes the M18™ ROCKET™ Tower Light/Charger, (1) M18™ REDLITHIUM™ 8.0 Battery, and a Carrying Bag.o This is everything you need to light the job site except an extension cord (when needed.)• IP54 Rated: Water Resistanto I have not tried it in a damp environment, but the rating should make it safe.• Impact Resistant, Reinforced Legso The entire unit is plain beefy.• Built in M18™ Charger & USB Porto There is a usb port on the control panel area. Handy for playing tunes or recharging the phone/tablet.• 3 Independently Pivoting Light Headso This is one of the better features of this light over some of the others in the Milwaukee line.• Protective Guard to Secure head and lens during transport and storageo The LED arrays fold down, then lower into a plastic “cage” to further protect them from accidental damage. Very nice.• Compact footprint, Low Center of gravityo Sturdy and stable. Short of tripping over a leg or falling on it there is no way to just knock it over. Of course, dragging a power cord or air hose around it might be a problem. • Low Battery indicatoro The LEDs start to flash when the battery runs low. VERY obvious, and surprising the first time it happened.• LED Limited Lifetime Warranty: LEDs never need to be replacedOPERATION: Except for the tripod release you can be up and lighting in 20 seconds. On/off/brightness controls are at waist level and easy to see. SUMMARY: One of the best lighting systems we own. My wife keeps borrowing it to use in the house, so she has her own now.PROS: Easy to set up. Easy to use. Durable. Versatile. Bright.CONS: Tripod release is a little tricky. Multiple battery option would be nice.

Milwaukee Tools keeps improving on their excellent line of cordless tools and this is another outstanding example. This is a complete kit … self storing LED tower, 8 Ah M18 Fuel Cell, and Storage Bag. Here’s a sample of some of its features:1) Can use any of the M18 line of Red Lithium Fuel Cells2) Excellent run times for 3 light levels … for 8 Ah Cell, 3.5 hours @ 6,000 Lumens; 5 hours @ 3,200, and 10 hours @ 1,700. From a 5 Ah Cell, I got 2.2, 3.1, and 6.3 hours for the same Lumen levels.3) For self-storing (Photo #1), the LEDs are protected from damage behind hard shields4) Cell charger is built-in at the base which accepts a 120 VAC cord (Photo #4) ; the LEDs can be powered by either source5) Control Panel (Photo #5) identifies brightness level and power source in use; there is a USB connector on the right hand side for charging/powering devices like cell phones, tablets, …6) Of course, an excellent warranty for both the lamp and fuel cellI would recommend this item.
