This is the pry bar for anyone who needs to move anything. It will extend to 48 inches to give you plenty of leverage and shrink to 29 inches if you don’t have the space for something longer. I love the indexing head that will move to almost a 90 degree setting and yet can be an almost straight with the bar if you need it that way.The only thing is that it is a little stiff to move the parts, and it is a bit heavy.

When I ordered this GearWrench pry bar I thought it was a tool box item for light weight work and I was hoping that the extension mechanism wasn’t so flimsy that you couldn’t put much of a load on it when it was fully extended. Boy did I underestimate it. You could almost move houses with this thing. It’s a bear, and only a tool box item if your tool box is across the bed of a pickup truck. This thing is heavy, rugged and well made. It’s as rigid when fully extended to 48 in. as it is when completely collapsed at 29 in. The extension push button mechanism is easy to release, it locks firmly when released, and it extends and collapses with no effort. There is a little bit of play in the joint when the bar is fully extended, but it’s not a problem and likely intentional to allow it to be extended and collapsed easily. The indexing head is really neat and you can easily adjust it through an arc of almost 180 degrees with the push of a button. This allows you to adjust the head to get the best mechanical advantage over what you are prying. The back of the head has horizontal serrations in it to allow it to grip the reaction surface.I can’t imagine a home do-it-yourselfer ever needing a heavier duty pry bar, it should even be adequate for most commercial and industrial applications.

This is one BIG pry bar, just what I needed to pull up some concrete slabs to level them. This thing gives you LOTS of leverage, especially when extended. It’s very large, gives a good amount of leverage, made it easy to do what I needed to do, the handle is easy to grip, no chance of hurting myself using it. No way I’m going to bend or break this one!

A very interesting and big pry bar tool. The handle grip has a very solid feel at about 1-1/4 in. This thing weighs in at about 15 lb of drop forged steel. Fully extended you have a 4 ft long leverage bar to move along heavy equipment like engine blocks or big rocks. I just used this bar to easily scoot a raised garden bed that would have broken my shovel. The bill hook is unique in that it has numerous angle adjustments. The locking buttons for the bill hook and handle are positive clicks that feel tight and strong. With the tool retracted to its short position it fits easily into my tool chest.

I would highly recommend the gear wrench pry bar. This thing is supper well built and solid. The handle on it is very easy to grip in your hand even when damp or wet from sweat, etc. The bar has many different positive locking position’s for adjusting the length for the task at hand. It also makes it very easy to store a or bar that 48″ long. It fits down to a nice compact foot print. Even the head adjusts nicely to fold it up against the handle to store. The locks that hold the adjustment for the length lock in to place very well and strong. With it being such a nice length it gives you a emcees amount of leverage and stays locked. The end has a adjustable point to help you get into just the right spot you want with giving you the maximum amount of leverage to perform the task at hand

The 29 to 48 IN. Extendable Indexing Pry Bar is a great tool that everyone should have. The unit is built very well and is as sturdy as a standard pry bar. The unit extends and retracts very easily, but the articulating tip takes some getting used to. The shipping package the unit came in was not adequate for the weight of the unit and actually broke, letting the pry bar fall, narrowly missing my foot.

This is a big heavy duty pry bar. It will extend from 29 inches out to 48 inches. The foot is adjustable for different prying positions. I’ve ever seen such a versatile bar. The foot has ribs for extra grip. The build quality is top notch. I have some other GearWrench tools and have been very satisfied with the quality. This bar would be useful for demolition, auto or farm equipment heavy duty use.

I took this tool out of the package and was immediately impressed by the build quality of it. A brief inspection of it reveals all the features I have been looking for a long time. The head is 6 inches long. At the maximum length of 48 inches, the force at the end of the handle is magnified eight times as big at the tip of the prying head. That is very useful when heavy objects have to be lifted. In tight spaces, however, the handle can be set to as short as 29 inches. The head can also be rotated to 14 positions in a 180-degree range, making it very flexible. A good tool needs to be built with good materials. This is especially important in this tool because the indexing mechanism requires high strength. I tested this tool in extreme circumstances and was happy to see that it holds itself up well even when the load was extremely heavy. It is a very tough tool that it is impossible for a normal strong man to break by hand. The tool feels good in my hands. It should be in the toolbox of anyone who is in the construction or auto repair business. You save a lot of money and space with this tool because it replaces multiple fixed pry bars.

The design of this extendable pry bar makes it convenient for use on multiple and varied projects. It is very rigid even in the extended position and the ability to change the angle of the tip increases it’s range of applications. The handle has a comfort grip but I don’t know yet if it will hold up well with continued use. I like it because it retracts to about 2 1/2 feet so it can be stored easily for transport to the job site.
