No transfer issues, even with large videos. Great because of the flexibility of the cable. Even removed the cable from the spring loaded housing for normal use. Probably not shielded as much as other cables, but haven’t noticed any issues.

I have a portable esata drive I take around with me, and this retractable cable is easy to just throw in a bag and take with me. It’s flexible. Works as described, no transfer problems.

I bought this to use with an eSata drive and wasn’t sure of the exact length I would need. This was the best choice for me and eliminates the bulky cord if I only need a short cable.

I had problems with the retracting mechanism deciding to retract when it wanted to – instead of when I wanted it to. Solved the problem by cutting out the mechanism. The red cord is one single cord, about 1 yard (1 meter) inside. No problems now. The cord is as light and delicate a lamp cord. No more struggling with heavy eSATA cables. Love it!
