This package saves a little over the individual costs of the cartridges for color and black. I ordered for my new printer. Haven’t needed them so far, but soon I will be using these cartridges in place of the standard size ones that came with the printer.

I purchased the 2-pack (value pack) with the Canon PIXMA TR7020 (reviewed elsewhere) about 3 weeks ago as replacements for the cartridges that came with the new device. It is ink: one black, one color. Larger in physical size than my previous Canon cartridges, so easier to handle and hopefully lasting longer. Quality matters to me when I am printing.

When my black ink ran low, I dreaded going shopping for a new one, either in person (pandemic) or online (exhausting and time-consuming with unreliable delivery options). I hoped that Canon had a convenient ordering and delivery option that came with the printer purchase. It did, and it gave me tremendous peace of mind. I’ll use it again when I need to, but thanks to this package I won’t need it for a while.

Using the starter cartridges that came with my new printer, and everything prints nicely. I have used Canon Pixma ink for years, and ALWAYS got very good results.

I think that it’s pretty ridiculous how cheap you make the printers, but then when it comes time to replace the ink cartridges they are SOOOOOO expensive. No wonder people are moving to the EcoTank system from Epson. I almost bought an Epson versus buying new ink for this printer, but they were out of stock on the one I wanted.

I don’t know how they get the complete color gamut in one container, but it works, and the color is certainly adequate for casual inkjet printing. How long it will last in my new Pixma will be the next question, but a certain consumer magazine says it is one of the most economical printers around so I don’t mind the purchase price.
