Recommended, as it is the only way to mount this BRITA filter.The filter must be fit with nipples not fittings.

Just holds the pipes. Nothing to keep the Brita unit from rotating which will create leaks in the water connections.

Works well, but since you have to run the pipe through it it was a little harder to install…would be better if you can fit pipe and THEN hang it.
