The Bosch GLM 50 CX offers a backlit color display with large numbers to easily see measurements, letters and words to provide simplicity when using its array of features. In addition to screen enhancements, the GLM 50 CX offers Bluetooth functionality, so users can digitally transfer measurements to a smartphone or tablet. Extreme accuracy of 1/16 in.; unit has great range at 165 ft. The GLM 50 CX offers multiple modes; 3 indirect measurement modes including multi-surface area. A built-in inclinometer allows the user to determine the angle of pitch and confirm when the tool is level. Includes stakeout measurement that pinpoints recurring marks along a line, e.g. every 6 in.

The thing measures distance well. I certainly benefited from using it. However, I was disappointed in one respect. The indirect-measure functions gave me lengths/distances that appeared to be about 2% in error. If 2% is within your acceptance range, then go for it. Bosch has not commented on my email asking for comment/explanation on the perceived error.

The Bosch exceeded my expectations. Very easy to navigate functions. Very user friendly for a multifunction tool. Read accurately even off of black surfaces in my darkroom. Auto orientation of the display works better than expected. Wish it had a waterproof rating like IP67. Only had it for about a month and haven’t tried all functions yet. Cell phone app needs work or I just don’t understand the instructions. May update this review later.

Way more than I need, but that is so much better than not having a feature or accuracy that I do need. I have found it to be well within the variances stated.I have not downloaded the software and used the Bluetooth feature, so I have not experienced the frustration others have stated with the programme. In fact, every programme native on the unit is so easy to use on the colour display, it seems strange that the phone/tablet app would be difficult. .I had previously purchased the Bosch 100 ft. Laser Measure and found the display on that unit to be MUCH more difficult to read. The numbers are larger, in colour, and rotate to make it easier on these old eyes. On that point, reading outside in full light these eyes could not see the laser pointer at 10m (about 30′), but that’s not my primary use (my only complaint with this product, maybe a green laser beam would be easier to see like my laser level).All programmes

I’ve had my eye on this for awhile now. I finally picked one up and am so glad I did. I should have done it sooner. I love all of the features especially the square footage calculator. I love that I can connect it with my phone and get a running list of my measurements. It is very easy to use and it beats getting out my tape measure and for long runs it is indispensable. My only complaint, and this doesn’t really involve the measurer, but the app that lets you do plans still has some bugs that make it very difficult to use.

Very accurate and easy to use but not very useful as it is designed for the general construction site as you can’t change the default minimum units from 1/32”. I went out and measured all the rough openings for doors and windows on a project and when I got home I had to enter all the measurements into a Excel spreadsheet and then convert them from 1/32” to 1/8”. Framers and general construction people just don’t typically work or think in 1/32”. I exchanged it for a GLM400C because you can change the minimum units on it.
