why dont you have a tripod flat head mount that will wrk with either a 1/4″in. x 20 or 5/8″ x 11 thread flat head mount. this has been a very big problem for me as many laser line levels use the1/4′ x 20 thread bolt assy. (such as the bt160)

The tri-pod is of Bosche’s usual high quality. Ht adjusts easily and once “toed” into the ground, provides a stable base for my optical builder’s level. It’s light weight and with the included shoulder strap, easy to carry. An extra star for the great cust. support as I provided the wrong address, on the delivery day, she got ahold of the delivery company’s driver and fixed it. Any other online seller and I would have been screwed for weeks. Bravo!

Got this on sale so it was a great decision to buy. High quality design with aluminum construction so it’s pretty light weight.

As a commercial contractor we use laser levels a lot. Sometimes a sight system just works better. Good quality and great value.

It seems solidly built FOR THE INTENDED PURPOSE. I have even used it for mounting an old 20-sec survey transit with no shake when feet are solidly pushed into turf. (on paving, not so much; aluminum tripods transmit vibration more than wood). These sell for much less than a heavy wood survey tripod which, in my opinion, makes this model perfect for the topographic surveys I use it for. It’s even got a shoulder strap! For all of those looking for thread-size adapters…just google “5/8-11 to 1/4-20 adapter” and several should pop up. With one of those AND a 1/4-20 to 3/8-16 adapter bushing (available from camera suppliers for a couple bucks) you can mount most 3-Way Heads from a camera tripod. That makes for super-steady shots with long lenses.I plan on buying a second one of these in the near future.

Solid for the money but a little more thought would have made this a super product.

It seems well built and I like the fact that you can move the instrument around a bit on top of the tripod to get the plum bob right over the mark. Good and high also.Dave

This works well as a telescope mount as well as a platform for surveying.

I actually purchased this to use for photography. I use a very large, antique camera. It uses film that is 8″x10″ so that means a big camera. It’s not all tight and compact, it’s a monorail style with a front and a back portion on a rail, perched on top of a cast iron clamp of sorts. Not exactly light. It took a bit of work to mount my camera as it requires a 1/4″ bold for mounting instead of the 5/8″ that this comes with, but it was no problem. If this can hold my huge camera, it can hold whatever stuff you want to put on it.In the photo, the tripod starts below the light colored metal with the knob. The top part of the tripod is metal if I’m not mistaken; the black part above the blue section.I’m also happy that it’s not the incredible gaudy neon yellow or orange…but being called a contractor’s tripod, I’m guessing the user might not be surveying around roadways where the extra visibility is important.
